About Me

Bridging Current and Traditional Knowledge

I am passionate about sharing herbal knowledge, and what thrills me most is when a client is able to discover an herb that works for them. Herbalism can connect us with the nature of which we are a part, taking care of ourselves while tending the earth.

In my practice I weave Western Herbalism, Ayurveda, and modern nutrition, considering your individual personality along with health issues. Humans are complex beings and we deserve holistic, affordable medicine that addresses our emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual needs.

My current health and research interests include oral health, digestive health, global ethnobotany, medicinal plant conservation, and neurodegenerative diseases.

With a background in the biological sciences, I apply a broad interdisciplinary approach to the world of health. I most recently received my Masters in Ethnobotany from the University of Kent, Canterbury, England in 2023. My original focus was plant ecology and I earned a B.S. in Environmental Science at Northern Michigan University. During my college years, I would occasionally come across a medicinal use of a plant by the Anishinaabe Native people and wonder, 'How? How did the people know how to harvest it, how much to use, and how to prepare it?' This planted the seed for my desire to learn the specifics of plants as medicine. I chose to attend the California School of Herbal Studies, which teaches primarily from a perspective of Western Herbalism. This tradition is based on Western European and North American plants and physiological understanding, and is my own cultural heritage.

My teachers include Dr. Raj Puri, Dr. Anna Waldstein, Bryan Bowen, DeAnna Batdorff, Jen Bredesen, Autumn Summers, Karen Aguiar, jim mcdonald, 7Song and so many more. I thank them and their teachers before them for being dedicated to serving both plants and people and for passing on their knowledge.
